Here we are again, at the end
of another IMA program season. We have been busy
this year – we received our NASBA Certification
allowing us to provide quality, certified
professional education to our members under our own
license. This required several people working
together to complete all of the steps, and the help
of Martin Brossman for presenting our ‘test’ for the
NASBA Board. It is now our responsibility to keep
our records ourselves, and it gives us some
flexibility in when we choose to hold our
Conferences. A big THANK YOU to those who worked on
We helped a large family for
Christmas this year. Both parents had some medical
issues, making holding full time jobs extremely
difficult. With 5 children, they were very happy we
were willing to help provide some Christmas cheer.
Thank you for those who worked on that event.
Our Chapter is moving into the 21st Century in
storage and sharing opportunities using Google Docs.
Using this shared ‘cloud’ we are able to keep our
files confidential, and the ability to give and
remove permission is very easy. This will be very
helpful for the Scholarship Committee to receive
applications and to review them without all being in
the same place. We are using it to house our mailing
lists and may move financials to this space too.
Thank you Cathi Hall, this is truly something we
needed to be nudged into doing!
Let’s have a
big turnout for our last meeting of the year. We
have planned to hear from Josh Walker from
Transportation Insight. Josh is in charge of Talent
Acquisition and he will be discussing the challenges
of working with several generations. How do you
attract and keep employees when each group is
looking for something different? Low unemployment is
nice but that makes this more of an issue than ever.
Please read more about Josh in this Newsletter.
I look forward to seeing you on May 12th! A week
earlier this month due to our Asheville Conference
on May 19th.
